Style Sessions
an individualized Shopping Experience at Cake Plus-Size Resale!
Style Sessions at Cake come in a few different forms, and all allow for a private shopping experience in pursuit of your style and shopping goals. Some folks book in for help establishing their style and size(s). Many customers are eager to have an expert pick out items for them, which can result in a more streamlined approach to shopping and/or just be more fun.
In Style Sessions, you can get feedback on how garments fit in a space free of judgment and assess what size(s) fit you well. Cake offers a wide variety of items, including plus-size brands you often only encounter online. At Style Sessions, you can shop all these items to become more familiar with the size/fit and styles of brands that might be new to you.
We currently offer two options:Full Style Sessions with Cat and Mini Style Sessions (semi-independent).
Both are private appointments in the shop during hours when we are closed for regular shopping.
STYLE SESSIONS with Cat
Book a 1-on-1 Style Session with Cat Polivoda! Cat will pull a personalized rack of clothing based on your style and goals, then spend 90 minutes offering fit feedback and styling support.
Style Sessions with Cat cost $240, with $100 returned as store credit to use during your session. You can book up to 70 days in advance, and virtual sessions are available—just select “virtual” when booking.
Cat is Cake’s owner and founder and has over 10 years of experience working with styling clients across a wide range of styles, plus-sizes, and genders.
Mini STYLE SESSIONS
Mini Style Sessions are a great fit if you’d like a curated rack of clothing picked just for you and prefer to try on and shop independently. You’ll have the shop to yourself, and Cat will be available for quick questions or feedback—without the deep-dive experience of a full session.
Mini Style Sessions cost $140, with $100 returned as store credit to use during your session.
You’re encouraged to start with the clothing we’ve pulled, but you’re also welcome to browse the sales floor. Cat will be nearby if you want a second opinion. Learn more about Mini Style Sessions and book here!
Style Session reminders + logistics
Style Session Logistics
Style Sessions take place at our shop: 5155 Bloomington Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55104.
Masks are required for shopping at Cake.
Please wear undergarments you’re comfortable trying clothes on in, and bring water if you’d like.
Store credit included in session fees is added to your Cake account and can be used during your session. If any credit remains, it stays on your account for future use. Store credit cannot be used to book a Style Session.
Rescheduling:
• Regular + Mini Sessions can be rescheduled up to 24 hours before your appointment via your booking confirmation email.
• For cancellations due to illness or for anything after the 24-hour window, contact us directly.
• No-call/no-shows may be charged a fee of up to $100 store credit.
All Style Sessions are final sale once booked.
