Fat Splash is a summer tradition around here!
Cake’s annual Fat Splash Pool Parties are beloved fat community events by and for fat folks! They’re a highlight of the summer and are all about joy, connection, and reclaiming the pool.
This summer, we’re hosting two Fat Splash Pool Parties:
July 19 • 9–11:30am @ Bloomington Family Aquatic Center (all ages!)
August 1 • 7:30–10pm @ Saint Louis Park Aquatic Park (18+)
Fat Splash is by and for fat folks. If this sounds like it’s for you, it is!

About Fat Splash
Since 2018, Fat Splash has been a vibrant summer gathering for the plus-size and fat community filled with cannonballs, poolside fun, sunshine (or shade!), and unapologetic joy. For many, it’s the highlight of the season and an annual tradition shared with friends and chosen family.
Whether you come to show off a fabulous swimsuit, soak up the sun, or simply be yourself in a welcoming space, Fat Splash is about joy, connection, and reclaiming the pool.
Fat Splash is a private, fat community event! Come solo or with friends, reconnect with pals, meet new folks, and spot some familiar Cake faces!
Cake’s 2026 Fat Splash Season
We’re back at our bigger venues this summer with two large events including one all ages Fat Splash.
We have some fave folks and traditions returning! Nina Perkins will be our photographer once again, and all guests will get access to their photos after the event. We’ll also be making a splash with our annual Cannonball Contest sponsored by Solcana Fitness!
This summer, we have some new additions to bring you with some help from our sponsors, like:
- a photo booth sponsored by Katrina DeWit
- giveaways including activewear sets from Expanse Active
- friendship bracelet making sponsored by Radical Health Alliance’s Rad Fat Adventure Camp
- shop belt bags at Fat Splash from FITSO
- and, for the first time since 2018, shop Cake merch! That’s right, we’re popping up at Fat Splash (primarily non-clothing items)!

2026 Fat Splash Venues
We loved last year’s larger locations, so we’re back again!
Sunday July 19 • 9–11:30am • Bloomington Family Aquatic Center
201 E 90th St, Bloomington, MN 55420
This Aquatic Center includes zero-depth entry, water slides, an aqua climbing wall, diving board (Cannonball Contest, here we come!), and interactive play features. They keep this pool at a balmy 83 degrees. Our 7/19 Fat Splash is an all ages event! Families and kiddos are welcome. Folks without families and kiddos are also welcome! Saturday August 1 • 7:30–10pm • Saint Louis Park Aquatic Park
3700 Monterey Drive, St. Louis Park, MN 55416
SLP Aquatic Park features a zero-depth entry pool, two four-story water slides (accessed via stairs), a drop slide, diving board (hello, Cannonball Contest!), spray features, sunny lounging areas, and several shaded spaces. This venue has outdoor lighting which makes it possible to party till 10PM even while the summer sun is setting. The sun will set at approximately 8:40pm for this Fat Splash. Our 8/1 event is 18+. Facility Info for Both Locations:
These are standard large community aquatic centers with full lifeguard teams, zero-entry access, and pool lifts available if needed. Both have bi-gendered locker rooms with showers and bathrooms, plus single-stall family/gender-neutral restrooms and changing spaces.
Seating + Lounging: Each space offers hundreds of commercial-grade lounge chairs and picnic tables. Lounge chairs are lower to the ground and have listed weight limits of 300 lbs (very UGH, but standard at all pool facilities we’ve toured). Please use facility seating as you feel comfortable, and feel free to bring your own chairs if you prefer!
Refreshments: Traditional pool concessions will be available for purchase at each location. Food is limited to grassy areas and not allowed on the pool deck at both locations. Outside food, besides water, is not permitted at Bloomington. Outside food is permitted at St. Louis Park. NO GLASS, please! We’ll share concession menus and prices closer to the events.
Parking & Transportation: Both locations have large lots shared with the community spaces surrounding them.
Parking at Bloomington is in a medium/large shared lot with additional street parking surrounding the aquatic center.
Parking at SLP: St. Louis Park Aquatic Park has a large lot attached to the facility, last year due to our event and a neighboring event happening at the same time, the lot filled up very quickly. This will be the same case as last year - sharing space with neighboring event. SLP has overflow parking available across the street in two additional lots! Please plan ahead. Because we’re expecting lots of folks at both events, we encourage you to carpool to SLP! Public transportation or ride services are also a great option if available to you.
We will share more specific information about parking with ticket holders prior to each event.
Weather/Cancellation Policy: Fat Splashes will proceed as planned unless the pool is officially closed due to weather, air quality, or another force of nature. If an event is canceled, all ticket holders will receive a full refund. In the rare event that this happens, we’ll make every attempt to alert ticket-holders the night before (for our 7/19 Fat Splash) or the morning of (for our 8/1 Fat Splash).
Ticket Info + Policies:
Early bird ticket pricing of $20 (including taxes and fees) is available through June 19th.
Regular ticket prices, starting June 20th, are $28 each (including taxes and fees).
For our All Ages Fat Splash on 7/19, tickets for kids 2 and under are free, and tickets for kids ages 3-17 are $6 (including taxes and fees) each.
Tickets are required for all attendees.
Tickets will not be sold at the door.
All ticket sales are final.
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your tickets via Eventbrite's website or app to a different date or to a different person.
Tickets are only available through Eventbrite. They are not available in-store or on Cake’s website. Store credit or gift cards cannot be used to purchase Fat Splash tickets.
By purchasing tickets, you assume your own risk and liability in attending this event and agree to hold Cake Plus-Size Resale, event venues, and all involved parties harmless.
Event Guidelines and Reminders:
No alcohol or drug use.
No smoking or vaping.
No outside food or drink at Bloomington, besides water. Outside food is permitted at St. Louis Park.
No glass containers.
7/19 is an all-ages event: Parents, please monitor your kids throughout the event. If you’re attending without kids, please be mindful of children present.
8/1 Fat Splash is an 18+ event.
Clean up after yourself and others.
Be respectful of the space and everyone present.
Follow lifeguards’ instructions and be respectful of their authority.
If you're not fat, please only attend if you're with a fat friend.
We reserve the right to ask you to leave if you don’t follow these guidelines.
Stay hydrated, apply sunscreen, and take care of yourself in this environment!
